Damania Airlines, East West Airlinesa and City Link Airlines also

Climate In India

for visiting India. The tourists visas are valid for six months to ten
months, irrespective of stay validity. Especially the ten years visa
is valid for US citizen under the bilateral arrangement.
Currency Issue and Money exchange
The Indian currency is Rupees and Paisa. India also provides with the
facility of money exchange facility. Tourists should take extreme care
to recognize money changing agents or banks or at the hotel counters
before exchanging the money. Money changing facilities can also be
availed at the international airports. Take precaution to keep money
changing certificate safely as an evidence for your money exchanging.
You are allowed to convert your money back to your currency on final
departure at the bank counter at the airports.
Baggage Rules
A fixed amount of tax is levied on the baggage of the tourist coming
to India. For this purpose of customs clearance of arriving
passengers, a two channel system has been adopted like Green Channel
for passengers without any dutiable good and Red Channel for
passengers having dutiable goods. Green channel passengers must
deposit the customs portion of the disembarkation card to the custom
official at the gate before leaving the terminal. Never the less all
the passengers shall ensure to file correct declaration of their
baggage.
Indian customs and Excise
An Inland Air Travel Tax is levied at 10 per cent of the basic fare,
on all passengers embarking on an inland air journey. However, those
passengers paying their Airfare in foreign exchange will be exempted
from payment of this tax. In addition, infants, cancer patients, blind
persons and invalids (those on stretchers) are also exempted from
payment of this tax after fulfilling certain conditions, stipulated in
the relevant notifications.
Currency
India's currency is the Rupee, abbreviated as Rs. One Rupee, which is
equal to 100 Paise. Tourist from outside India should carry cash and
travellers cheques to guard themselves against any odd situation.
Other hard currencies such as Yen, French Francs, Deutsche Mark can
also be changed in tourist areas and big cities. Any money in the form
of travelers' cheques, drafts, bills, cheques, etc. which tourists
wish to convert into Indian currency should be exchanged only through
authorized money changers. All Credit cards (like Master, VISA,
Diners, American Express & others ) are widely accepted in India.
Transport and Guides
For, sightseeing, transfers and expedition all types of luxury
transports are available on demand. Sightseeing and excursion include
transport without entrance fees at places of visit and English
speaking local guide charges.
Tourist's Decree
Exchange money only through authorized banks or moneychangers.
Shop only at Government Emporia and shops mentioned on the list of the
Department of Tourism.
If you wish to visit any prohibited or restricted area, check with the
nearest Government of India Tourist Office to ascertain details of the
formalities required.

station.
